About Baltimore Free Farm

Located at 3511 Ash St, Baltimore, MD 21211, Baltimore Free Farm operates as a community garden serving Baltimore in Maryland. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as community center, non-profit organization, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Farm stands, orchards and public gardens round out a trip to the garden center. Farm shops and stands sell produce, eggs, honey and often vegetable starts and hanging baskets in spring; orchards and u-pick farms open for strawberries, blueberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins in season; Christmas tree farms sell choose-and-cut and pre-cut trees and wreaths from late November. Botanical and public gardens, arboretums and conservatories are good places to see which plants thrive locally, and community gardens rent plots and share tools and knowledge.

Baltimore is in Maryland, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Baltimore is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Maryland's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Everyone here is great - so many amazing volunteers and people in the community, and they are all so welcoming. I feel like I'm actually a part of a neighborhood.

Great place to relax and do some volunteer gardening.

Lovely and welcoming place! At the front is the community gardens where plots can be rented. At the back is the free farm itself, where volunteers help run both the farms and the greenhouse where seedlings are grown for future plantings.

Didn't buy anything but, it was a great experience. I wish they had more electronic type vendors. Only advice is to improve the storefront appearance. Don't get me wrong, it had a great sign and banner outfront with the different vendor's logos displayed on it, but I think the overall look and feel of the storefront was boring and offputting. They could easily grab everyone that walks by the area for business with simply adding a permanent sign that highlights their logo and brand. I'd be glad to assist with the sign and logo design. As well as advertising around the area more.
